You must apply for 16 years or older for a learner. If you are under 18, your parents or guardians must sign the consent section of MV-44 (Driver License Application). Their parents or guardians may sign the document before it to a DMV office. Your parents or legal guardian is not required to go to the DMV office with you to sign MV-44. No consent is required if 17 years and has the form MV-285 (Driver Education Student Certificate of Completion).

Pilot Manual State of New York. You can read the online manual driver and test procedures, or you can use a driver's manual, contact your local DMV office or DMV Call Center. Part two and part three of the driver manually or withand information you need to know to get the written test to allow the learners. You do not have to take the written test if you have form MV-285 (Driver Education Student Certificate of Completion).

You need proof of identity. The test should be worth a total of at least six points and have to prove your date of birth. If you do not have 6 points of proof of identity, to their parents or guardians complete form MV-May 45 at a DMV office and proof of identity.

You need to show an insurance card. If you are not entitled to a Social Security number, you must receive a letter from the administration of social security, which indicates you are eligible for a Social Security number. You need to show the letter to the DMV.

See the website for Morand information.
